Colour grading reel
Our colour grading reel presents work by Lucian Paraian, showing the treatment of footage within different visual contexts. The examples provide a starting point for discussing the direction and finishing of your film.
A grade needs to function across a sequence. Colour, contrast and the relationship between shots should support the subject and the director’s intention, with individual frames considered as part of the whole.
Finding the direction
The starting point is the film and the intention behind it. References can help explain a direction, but they need to be considered alongside the footage, lighting and subject already present.
Tell us what you want the viewer to notice and how the image should feel within the story. If there are shots or scenes that concern you, identify them when sharing the brief.
From Me to You
Our colour grading case study for From Me to You, directed by Simret Cheema-Innis, discusses the short film’s distinctive neon palette.
The case study provides more context than a reel alone, showing how the colour treatment relates to one particular project.
Preparing a grading enquiry
Send the film’s running time, current edit status and intended release or viewing format. Explain the look you have in mind and include reference material if available.
It is also useful to identify the source material and editing workflow so the technical handover can be discussed. A reference export, source-format information and the intended delivery specifications help us plan that handover.
Discuss your film
Email us or send an enquiry with a short description, deadline and the work you need. If the brief also includes filming or animation, include that context so the scope is clear.
